One thing that crossed my mind this morning is Matt Lombardi played in 62 games for Toronto this season. The Preds will get to keep the 4th round conditional pick.

Interesting times for the Preds. Biggest off season yet. Could make or break this franchise. Fans got a taste of the playoffs. Expectations are heavy now. No longer the week sister of the Central. Going to be hard to live up to those expectations. Going to be fun to watch what happens.

Either way, love the team and your city is a great hockey market. Don't let anyone say different. Good luck and send my love to Carrie.

A "taste" of the playoffs? The Preds have been one the teams in the league to most frequently taste the playoffs. Over the last 8 seasons, the Preds have tasted the playoffs seven times. In the Preds 13 seasons of existence, their playoff tasting looks like this (X = playoffs O = no playoffs): 00000X LOCKOUT XXXOXXX

It's a big off season alright. The biggest concern right now is Suter...with Weber to follow. The rest of the issues can be addressed within the organization. I don't think anyone expects the Preds to be active in the free agent market other than trying to re-sign some of their own.

This was our first real taste of the playoffs. We went in as favorites, we performed initially as favorites, and we tanked. This past year was out first real taste of the playoffs and what they all are.

I disagree on the offseason sentiments. I think the Preds look to make some noise. Either with major resigning of players (Suter, Weber, Radulov, etc), or by going out and getting a major FA. If they don't, everything they worked for this offseason, and quite frankly the past 8 seasons is out the door.
